THE FIRE-STARTER: Meet Max Valentine’s first love, and the heartbreaking consequences that shape his teenage years. Young hearts beat fast.

THE GIRL NEXT DOOR: A day in the life of Samantha Summers. Experience the bittersweet events that lead to her foreboding future. Can she prepare herself for the most challenging of adventures? A new love...

A short novella from the mind and soul of Madison Daniel. Music and words collide in the beginning of the Ember Series.

Music is LIFE and the written word is our SOUL.

Music and writing have been my true ambition since I was a child. I have used music in every form possible; writing it, performing it, healing with it, etc. I call it my "life's soundtrack." I have always written in some form; from comic books to screenplays to short stories and now the new series "Ember." I have found a true passion for my stories and characters and am eager to share them with the world.

See you on the next book tour...M.D.

Happy Hour in Hell by Tad Williams

Once again I find myself reading and reviewing a book by Tad Williams.

My thoughts:
When an author does a series the great challenge is for him to step it up for each book. I read and loved book one The Dirty Streets of Heaven. Did I love this one as much?
MORE TAD, MORE!! I loved this one more! The whole concept of the series to begin with is intriguing. What if death and the afterlife is really like that? So I say excellent plot on book two. There is lots of action going on. Never a dull moment! I love the vivid descriptions of hell. All the characters are well developed and I love how dedicated Bobby is to the woman he loves. Sweet and heartbreaking. Makes one think: What would I do, how far would I go for the one I love?
Something else that I feel need mentioning is that it is written in the first person. Very few authors can write in the first person and do a good job. Tad did this in fine style!

Usually I give a few paragraphs for you to feast your eyes on. I pick something from the book that grabs my attention and put in my review. But the problem is what I really loved, my favorite quote is a whole chapter. Chapter forty-one called 'the pain report' really got to me. So this time I am not going to post a quote and I am just going to say this...GO GET THE BOOK, Once you have read it then get back to me on chapter forty-one!

Blurb:
I’ve been told to go to Hell more times than I can count. But this time I’m actually going.

My name’s Bobby Dollar, sometimes known as Doloriel, and of course, Hell isn’t a great place for someone like me—I’m an angel. They don’t like my kind down there, not even the slightly fallen variety. But they have my girlfriend, who happens to be a beautiful demon named Casimira, Countess of Cold Hands. Why does an angel have a demon girlfriend? Well, certainly not because it helps my career.

She’s being held hostage by one of the nastiest, most powerful demons in all of the netherworld—Eligor, Grand Duke of Hell. He already hates me, and he’d like nothing better than to get his hands on me and rip my immortal soul right out of my borrowed but oh-so-mortal body.

But wait, it gets better! Not only do I have to sneak into Hell, make my way across thousands of miles of terror and suffering to reach Pan- demonium, capital of the fiery depths, but then I have to steal Caz right out from under Eligor’s burning eyes and smuggle her out again, past demon soldiers, hellhounds, and all the murderous creatures imprisoned there for eternity. And even if I somehow manage to escape Hell, I’m also being stalked by an undead psychopath named Smyler who’s been following me for weeks. Oh, and did I mention that he can’t be killed?

So if I somehow survive Hell, elude the Grand Duke and all his hideous minions and make it back to the real world, I’ll still be the most hunted soul in Creation. But at least I’ll have Caz. Gotta have something to look forward to, right?

So just pour me that damn drink, will you? I’ve got somewhere to go.

Author spotlight: Zoe Adams

Dear readers I give you the lovely:
Zoe Adams

Zoe Adams hails from a seaside town on the east coast of England. Books and writing are her passions, and this has led to her gaining a degree in Professional Writing. Zoe takes inspiration from different cultures and their rich mythology. This is evident in the Shōjō series, beginning with Best Served Chilled. When not reading or writing, Zoe indulges in a healthy obsession with anime, spending time with her family, and listening to a wide variety of influential music. Amongst other things anyway.

With her alternative mind, who knows what she will write next?

Her current release is a story called 'Best Served Chilled'

Blurb:
“What would you give to make it stop?”
Life hasn’t been easy for Hiraku Michiyo. Struggling with the misery that dwells in her past and her present, she’s spending more time with a wine glass than real friends. One night, she meets the charismatic, Shoichi.
Intrigued and a little frightened, she invites him home.
Yet little does she realise that the real horrors are just beginning. And escape is certainly not at the bottom of any bottle.

Excerpt:
Above her, the shōjō began to glow a brilliant red. His skin bubbled, as he pulled her energy into him. He drank in her nightmares, fears, hopes and dreams. Jealousies from childhood rose to the surface.

Stronger and stronger, the shōjō grew. This had to be the most satisfied he had felt in such a long time. True it was a shame her old man had to die, but at least he'd been happy for a short while.

And now to find his affections after all these years. Oh he couldn't have wished for anything as sweet as this. Father like daughter. And the corruption was ever so easy.

These little humans were his idea of fun. They were the perfect toys; fun for hours and so easy to break. With the right beverage, he just had to seek them out. Other demons might sneer at his profession but he didn't have a care in the world. Especially right this second.

Musical inspiration:
 D-Technolife by UVERworld.
A J-Rock track that makes me want to punch and kick the world until it is black and blue all over. This features in the anime Bleach during the second opening and always makes me think of fighting against what is wrong with the world. This track was at the forefront of my mind for a later chapter.

Rebel Love Song by Black Veil Brides.
It was my song of the month when I was writing the novella. Not everyone likes them and they’re a topic for hate. I know how that feels, and I love them. The song holds a lot of meaning for me.

Waking the Demon by Bullet For My Valentine.
The title is self-explanatory really. Inspirational for a certain naughty chapter. Read it when you get to it – you’ll enjoy it. I know I did writing it!

Help Is On The Way by Sixx: A.M.
A real rock track with a hell of a lot of meaning for myself and our heroine. Definitely how Hiraku feels at times. I’ve been inside her mind…

SCANDAL BABY by SCANDAL.
This is a feisty little J-Pop track that gets me in the mood to write anything! It was also featured as the title and main track for the first professional university script I wrote, which centred around teen pregnancy. Different from demons.

Can’t Stop Me Now by Rod Stewart.
This song is an anthem for me. Not only has it made me cry on multiple occasions, but I have realised the true extent of the lyrics. It means something to me and to my parents. It might not be everyone’s cup of tea (or coffee, or even glass of wine).

If you like to take walk on the dark side then this album is for you. The unique synthy-goth-punk style  of these four magnificent musicians is astounding. Songs 1-3,5, 7 will make you jump around and dance. 4, 6, 8, and 9 will make you feel and think. Take the time to listen closely to the poetry that is the lyrics of every song, each one is heartfelt and full of beautiful emotion. The strong British voice of the front man Crilly is lovely and charming along with the backing vocals of Nico the bassist and Adam the guitarist. All of the music is well written and cohesive, the percussionist Jim puts his amazing talent in each song in such a way that you feel like your heart beats in time with the drums. Crilly does an amazing job weaving the synths around each song.
I loved every song on this album. I highly recommend it! And any of you who happen to be in the UK go see them live! I was fortunate enough to be in the UK this summer and got to see them at two of their gigs. They are mind blowing live! It does not matter the venue or how big the crowd is. They BRING IT! Every time!
